Michael DeDecker

Michael DeDecker is an attorney with over 16 years of legal experience helping clients in Sacramento. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Utah, where he developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking. Michael then earned his Juris Doctor from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, with a specialization in Intellectual Property law.

During law school, Michael served as an intern at the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office. This experience exposed him to a wide variety of legal issues and gave him invaluable courtroom experience representing juveniles.

After passing the bar, Michael began his career as a defense attorney, advocating for both minors and their parents in dependency court cases. For over a decade, he worked as a court-appointed attorney, handling family law and juvenile matters. He prided himself on providing zealous representation to clients from all walks of life.

Michael also led the dependency drug court program, helping parents battling substance abuse issues regain custody of their children. With extensive experience trying cases in Sacramento courts, Michael understands what evidence and arguments carry the most weight.

For the past seven years, he has focused his solo practice on family law, while continuing to assist families through all stages of the legal process. When not in the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his four young children. He is committed to serving the Sacramento community and ensuring fairness and justice for every client.
